hi does anybody know what my rights are? i have two contract phones with orange both galaxy s2's but one model is I9100P and the other is I9100. the I9100P is absolutely fine no problems but the other one has been replaced by orange 6 times due to the phone freezing and turning itself off. they are saying they is nothing to swap the phone for another model sony experia arch but 1. can get it on a cheaper contract 2. it is downgrading the phone i already have. they wont swap for iphone 4 at all which meets the specs of the s2. I am literally at the end of my tether and dont know what to do next as they just keep sending me the same phone and the same faults are occuring. Is it possible to have a virus in your sim or memory card?? im literally clutching straws when i say that but hey its worth a try!!
anybody help?!
thanks x

Have you been making a note of the IMEI number when sending the phone back? Trading Standards generally state that if the fault isn't fixed after 3 attempts it's irreparable and refund or replacement should be sort. (I wonder if they've just been reflashing the firmware and sending the original handset back?) My understanding is the handset is part of the contract and they must replace with equivalent or better. However, check the small print in your contract. Rather than just cancelling your direct debit, you should contact CAB or Consumer Direct to double check that Orange are in breach of contract first.

My son has a iphone 4s, that kept going off, he took it back, they tinkered with it and said it's ok. Got home and it went off again. wasted another 2 weeks and went back, they give him a new phone. Got home and that went off too. so they sent him another sim. works ok now , fingers crossed!
