Someone stole five wheelnuts (alloy wheels) from my car the other day.
On phoning the Ford Agent to see if they had replacements (they did) I realised why they are such tempting items. The cost was £8.05 - per nut! There is nothing very remarkable about them except they are chrome plated, and they probably cost about 10p each in quantity to make.
I cant help feeling that this sort of profiteering is surely going to exacerbate thefts. £40 is a great deal of money if you are not very rich, and if someone has taken yours...
I bought replacements from the car breakers shop in Borough Rd for £1 each if person who stole them is reading this, wants more and is prepared to pay a more reasonable price for them. They checked they were the right nuts for me, and even lent me a brace to put them on. I doubt Ford would provide better service. Too busy charging well over the odds for easily stolen items.

They're good lads down there at Jimmys yard. I needed an indicator relay. Toyota main dealer wanted fifty quid for it. They had a similar one in the box and let me take it to try for nought.
