Any more info on the above ?? Can't see any mention of it on the Merseyrail site. Thankyou touchstone. I spoke to some of the lads who attended the incident. Apparently, some man climbed up onto the station roof and was threatening to jump on the line. Merseyrail cut the power, thus stranding a train at West Kirby. He didn't want to talk to police officers, only to the security guards. I don't think he trusted the boys in blue. It all seems to have stemmed from a domestic incident. I think the trains were stopped for around 6 hours with nothing going passed Bidston. What are your thoughts on this people? Would you have cut the power? I wouldn't, in fact I would of ignored said roof protester and carried on with my job. People have work to get to, they cannot be late with an excuse of "a man threatened to jump off a roof". Health and safety laws, human rights, all way over the top these days. Would you have cut the power? I wouldn't, in fact I would of ignored said roof protester and carried on with my job. People could of lost their jobs that day because of some "attention seeking idiot", so yes, i stand by what i said.
The more you give these fools attention the more they crave.
If this geezer was ignored he would of ended up just getting down on his own accord.
While there are people standing around "oh, shock, horror, he's gonna jump" he's gonna be lovin it because he's getting the attention.
How can that be cold hearted?
Anno if i was on that train if some pratt caused me to be late for work i'd get up on the roof myself just to give him a slap!
put him in ashworth and throw away the key!!!
(Just my opinion, no offence meant to any party)

The power should have been turned off to protect others & equipment, then they should have brought the snipers in!

Although I am with you on the "attention seeking" bit, threatening to ban someone for saying something you don't like is a little over the top isn't it? Seems like an abuse of power just because you're a mod. See forums like this getting taken over every day by power hungry moderators who don't like people who don't agree with them or point things out. However, back on topic, yes I think the guy should have just been left to come down on his own. I've worked with mental health patients in the past and my wife even more so. People who threaten to kill themselves or do something stupid don't really want to, its just a cry for help. People who are going to kill themselves don't make a song and dance about it and don't tell anyone - why would they? If they really want to do it, they wouldn't give anyone the chance to stop them. The guy should be fined and made to pay the costs of the time for the services and people involved/disrupted by what he did. Volly read the rules! I'm not abusing my power and I don't give a toss what people think about my grammar. Of all the cheek!  Topic Closed by Admin ! Admin Notice : Spelling and Grammar is our only form of communicating on these forums. It is seen as insulting to comment on spelling or grammar. Accounts have been suspended for this in the past and that is the Advice been given. Only Admin can Suspend a Users Account Not a Moderator, i can see how it could be read as a threat but understanding that moderators can not ban accounts, also removes it as a threat. Which means no "Power Trip". Its my fault for not updating guideline pages. (on to do list). Its was getting out of hand a few months ago. And decided to update the Guidelines. Admin
