I'm bloody fuming !  Just got a DVLA SORN fine in the post this morning. I wouldn't mind but i bought the car on 18 oct with tax on .its been sat on the driveway unused since. never received a tax reminder for when tax run out at end of oct - this prob went to prev. owner. never heard a thing from them until today- which just so happens to be a week since i taxed it which i back dated to jan 1st ! so now i got to pay £25 because of their incompetent computers ! ( and my lack of observation ) Arrrgggghhhh !!!!!!! ok rant over - thank you ! :rolleyes:

i got one of them fines aswell for my scooter (yes i no very sad). but i had to pay, theres no way at all of gettin out of it!!!

Oh yeah i phoned them up - had a rant & rave and came to the conclusion that they arent interested in why they just want their money !
bloody fuming i tell ya !
They basically said that it wasnt their fault that I hadnt received the reminder or noticed that MY car that was sat on MY driveway had run out of tax and that I hadnt filled in a sorn that can be collected from a local post office. They did say that i can write in to complain & explain the circumstances, but that i'll still probably end up paying the fine. Great help they were!
I give in its not worth the flamin hassle !
I wrote a chq for £25 and posted it off this afternoon !
