I have a dell inspiron 1545, with all dell recovey discs windows vista 64bit. I have reinstalled the operating system, and all drivers on the disc. But the laptop is so slow, it has 3gb ram. When i click on internet explorer it takes 45 secs for paget to load. If i click to open control panel it takes 30 secs to open. The cpu fan seems to be going at full speed all the time. Any ideas.

Hi b+c usually when a fan is running constantly it is a sign of overheating I have had this before and surprising enough the amount of dust that is collected on the inside so the fan kicks in, There are two ways of dealing with this as I know of 1) a canister of compressed air to blow it out or suck it with a vac.

This may explain somrthing, this is a fresh install, with nothing else installed, just vista 64bit and drivers and windows updates.. Surely it should not take up this much space.
