My boss feeds his dog raw meat, it's better for his dog and quite a lot cheaper too.

Have you thought of switching to raw food? My GSD bitch Tilly is 10 years old and has the teeth of a 4 year old I was told by my vet lol! There are many benefits of raw feeding. If you need any help or advice just let me know.

I've never had to clean my dogs teeth. I Don't need worm treatment or flea control either. They have small pooh's that don't smell. My vet is not keen on raw feeding for 2 reasons. 1/ I won't buy the stuff they sell or recommened. 2/ I don't visit them with any problems re; my dogs. in the past 10 years I have been there only for Routine spaying of 2 bitches and puppy vaccs, and I have 4 big dogs x

I want to move onto raw feeding but I've read some things about causing problems aswell, I've read one or two online msgs about people who's dogs have died due to the bones ripping up their insides and a few things about the raw food being unsafe to feed, I know some raw meats are but as long as you are carefull about where the food comes from is should be ok right?. I tried a few raw items with my dog and it didnt go well so I want to do more research first, at first I gave her a very small amount of mince which wasnt pretty the next day and a while later we gave her some raw lamb bones, it was messy and she threw up the next day (although Im not sure this wasnt due to the milk my partner had also tried to give her a few hours previously) Ive read a bit maore into it and realised that I should be feeding her chicken to begin with and I know it takes a while for the system to get used to it but it still worries me abit. Tilly where do you get your meat from, I can only do it if it works out not to expensive, I'd like to find a butchers to get chicken carcas from, and I know morrisons do cheap bones and bits and pieces and I found a place on leasowe road that specifically sells raw pet food but i'd be good to know what everyone else round here does
