You can buy a reader from ebay for about £10, (for an obd2 reader)

I diagnose Peugeots if it's a Pug.
I wouldn't put too much faith in a cheap Ebay code reader, I've seen instances of where they've given the completely wrong code and put the owner on the wrong path of fixing a problem and buying unnecessary parts.
