Any Model makers or Wood turners know where i can buy Blanks, up to 5mm thick & 150mm length or longer, min width 15mm. Preferably in the Wirral,Liverpool,Chester area. Wanted for making scales. Have already tried the model shop in New Brighton. Thank you.

In the past, I've bought exotic timbers from Fitchett & Woollacott in Nottingham. I see they are now a division of Brooks Bros. who have a place in Skelmersdale. http://www.brookstimber.co.uk/specialitywoods.php
Carpe diem.

Thanks Chris. Will send them an e-mail, but looking at their products, i don't think they deal with wood in the dimensions i need. But it`s worth a try!(Basically,am looking for blanks about the size of a mouse mat,but about 5mm thick)

Try Men in Sheds at Ellesmere Port. Google it. They'll even let you use their machines! All for a donation.

Thanks for the link. Though i think i may have to invest in a small Table Scroll Saw and cut down some long Pen Blanks, which are more readily available. The search is now on for a quality saw!
