This is just to inform all dog walkers in and around Victoria Park, Rock Ferry, about a potential hazard.
There is a dog which frequents this park which has been involved in unprovoked attacks on other dogs.
It is a male dog, white with pale fawn patches. It looks like an American Bulldog. The owner is a young blonde woman who regularly walks it off the lead.
It was loose in the park and attacked a german shepherd that was being walked on a lead a week or so ago, it just charged up no warning no growling just started attacking. By all accounts it looked like it was bounding up to play as dogs do, but it started biting instead.
I have heard it also went for a jack russell outside the school on Well Lane recently, but the owner picked up her dog and held it up in the air at arms length while the bulldog was jumping up and snapping at it, so no physical damage ensued.
So all dog walkers please be on your guard.

Just to add to the above, I've just spoken to my OH who saw the dog attack, and he says now he comes to think of it he's not sure whether it is male or female, and although it looks like an American Bulldog, he says it is slightly smaller than other American Bulldogs he has seen, and has heard it being referred to as an 'Old Time Bulldog'. It is much bigger than a staffie though. The colour like I said is white with pale fawn splotches.

No defo not a staffie. Like I said in the first post it's much bigger than a staffie. And defo not dark brown.
It is white with very very pale fawn, almost golden coloured, blotches. The blotches are all over its body. I think the proper name for the blotch colour might be 'lemon'.
I know of a dark brown staffie though (called Ollie, apparently) which attacked a greyhound in Victoria Park a few weeks back, the owner of that staffie also hit the greyhound's owner over the head with the lead, I believe, but that was a different dog.

Ooer I don't want to put people off going to Viccy Park though! Most of the dogs there and their people are lovely.

I dunno if informing them would be of any use, but why not give the Wirral Community wardens a phone call, and advise them of the information you have mentioned in your posts. I do see them about in their vans so they might be able to keep an eye out for it when they are patrolling in that area. As somebody says, it could be a child it attacks.

Yes that's a good idea, thanks. I understand the police were informed on the day of the attack, with a full description of dog and owner given.
The maddest thing is someone pointed out to the girl that she should put the dog on a lead just after it attacked, and she said, apparently, 'I don't see why I should'.... duh..
If she knows its behaviour then it should at least be on a lead, or muzzled.

I had an encounter with this dog a couple of weeks ago,it tried to hump my dog who isn't in season.I always avoid her when she's in the park but she came running up behind me.My dog is always on the lead,so I've got Misty on practically strung up while her dog is jumping all over her.I ended up with bruises down my legs & it took a few minutes for Misty to recover. One of the gardeners asked if it had attacked I said no but she has been told to keep it on a lead as its knocked a child off its bike & the Jack Russel incident, but I've seen it taking footballs & takes no notice of dumb blonde who is more interested in the keep fit stuff than controlling her dog.not surprised the dog is out of control as it only seems to get a few minutes excersice when she's not on the keep fit stuff.
no1s gonna keep me from u
