Hi
We have two older style camping stove burners that run on pressurised paraffin and wondered if there is anywhere on Wirral that sells paraffin (Kerosene) these days.

@homeraway... I've a couple of Optimus/Primus stoves I use regularly. Very reliable indeed. You may be in for a nasty shock when you come to buy Meths (for priming). It has rocketed up in price in the last 18 months or so. I've been using central heating oil (22secs.?) in the stoves and pressure lanterns for a couple of years. MUCH cheaper than paraffin (when you can find it) and I've had no problems with smells or blocked vapourisers etc. Same light or heat output but as I said, much cheaper. If you don't use central heating oil, I'm sure one of your neighbours does. It's about 70p per litre. Compare that to paraffin. If he won't sell you a couple of litres - you know where his drain valve is !!!!

I think it was about £6 for a 4 litre plastic carrier.
