Took some pics from the D1 at silverston over the weekend Also got just over a mins worth of video if anyone can host it?? Its from the Saturday night, when they where practising, which was much much better than the actual comp on sunday, the drivers where more relaxed and throwing 5+ cars at the corner at the same time After seeing it on Sat night, Sunday was very very boring indeed, anyway, here the pics: ChewySnack Shaking hands with Mr Nagata (Boss of Top Secret, and seen doing 200mph+ in Max Power "Beasts From The East" and general nutty guy: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05oct/cruisewirral03010.jpg) RWD 500bhp Imprezza: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05oct/cruisewirral03011.jpg) Phil Morrison, UK drift champ: ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05oct/cruisewirral03012.jpg) AE86 Corolla on the ramps doing an engine swap on the saturday. Guys where wearing white t-shirts, and they didnt get a spec of dirt on them. Also on inspection of the old engine, it was using a 5 Valve Cylinder head ![[Linked Image]](http://www.cruisewirral.com/gallery/uploads/01/05oct/cruisewirral03013.jpg)

It was an exelect weekend Neil Qualified 1st by 1.2 secs, fluffed the start, dropped to 6th, but within 2 laps was back in the lead. Then, the only rain of the weekend came For about 3 mins we had heavy rain, now the starion spins the rear wheels in 3rd in the dry, and became really hard to drive in the wet (Spinning in everygear) and he dropped to, and finished 2nd. The drift cars are awsome!!! However, they look very pretty in the pics, but get close up, and they are like patchwork quilts All have bodged crashed bumpers, wings, sideskirts, and the stickers just hide the sins underneath. But they go very well, and from a distance look the dogs danglies All the cars had fibregalss / Carbon fiber everything to keep weight down, bonnets, bumpers, wings, 1/4s, perspex windows etc... The AE86's where having a little trouble round silversone due to the size of the track, and didnt really have the power like the turbo cars to hold a full drift unless they dropped it in to the corners really fast and on the 3rd gear limiter

Funny thing is, we where racing on the saturday, and camped in the circuit. So, then on the sunday, we where already inside, and had the same access as people with the VIP access Was a very good weekend, about 20k people turned up on Sunday, but in my opinion, the sat night was by far the best, and most relaxed night
