Hi guys n girls, could someone advise on a reputable vet please?

I seem to remember vet*pets having a bad reputation on here but cannot find the thread.

We pick our new pup up next week and need to register.

If you're talking of Vets 4 Pets on Woodchurch Road, they've been fine with my dog since I registered her earlier this year. They've been there a while and always seem to be busy when I go, so that must be a good testament smile
What type of puppy are you getting?

Vets 4 Pets are very good we've found. We've had a couple of things up with our pup and Matt has sorted him out quickly. He's brilliant.

We've used Broadway in Wallasey the last 5 years and found them to be great, my boy had to have a growth removed from his nose a couple of years back and they did a fantastic job.

Vets 4 Pets in Prenton have been brilliant with our 2 cats. One of our cats gets very stressed in the vets but she is fairly relaxed around Sean.

No-one better than Broadway Vets, in my opinion. Can't do too much for you. Not as cheap as some others, but much better hours Seven days 9am to 6.30 at three sites, and superb callouts.

Thanks everyone i will look them all up, sarah wanted to go with vets 4 pets but with me recalling a problem on here i was put off.

i will read up on all the vets suggested.

We have bought a Rottweiler as i have experience with the breed.
We can show him if we want as he is from a 6 generation kc registered breed, he comes with a months insurance, a pet pack, a family tree certificate and the registration documents.

We seen the parents and the granparents, they are of a lovely nature, big boned and a big bloodline of champion crufts winners.

So we really want to pick the right vet for him.

He is 9 weeks old, photos from today..

Meet Chop smile

Matt at vets 4 pets prenton left Broadway to set up own franchise in prenton . We followed him to vets4pet, And in my opinion he and shaun the best on wirral . Have been under Matts care with cat and dog for 13 years. They have great offers on like vaccination for life and bug packs .

Thanks everyone, we took chop for his first needle yesterday.

The vets is outstanding, gleaming clean with lots of space (no overcrowding) and the vet we seen was really nice.

Vet said he is extremely large for his age but he is very health with a strong heart and obdient for his age.

We went with vets for pets.

He goes back in 2 weeks for his other needle and we are having him chipped. Only £17 to chip him.

Vet reckons he will be almost twice the size by then (unlees we misheard him) omg

Was advised by vet to take atleast 4 weeks off work for training ect still working a little but all my time on him and both mine and stes at evenings.
Dont want to blow my own trumpet but yeah hes a stunner hes a credit to us,very quick learner too and crafty!!! Lol
Starting to let him in the garden so hes beeing really mischevious at the min
He has me and family in stiches things he dose
His latest thing started today is taking the weights out the blinds and putting them
On his bed, been wondering where they had gone till ste said tonight lol
As soon as we get him out and start tiering him out the better altho we gunna have huge muscles on us after walking h when he gets big lol x

LOL, he sounds a handful!!!

Be careful with the exercising though. Our vet said 5 mins exercise per 4 weeks of age. This is because as such a big breed, bones take two years to develop thus 'over-exercising' can be harmful in later life (hip dysplasia aka 'their hips go). B. is done in after 15 minutes despite his size.

Obvs Chop is a different breed but will be big, just the same. Ask the vet at next jabs x

Dont over exercise as this can cause hip and knee problems in big dogs , he is a little smasher ..enjoy !!x

His dads hip score is 3.3 and his mums is 1.1, vet said thats excellent and he should have no problems.
the whole generation have never been inbred (which is legal but proper breeders choose not to interbreed) so his health should be very good.

He had his last innoculation last night and he is now chipped so he is good to go for walks in 10 days.

How did yours get on at the vet?

Thanks for your kind comment.

Just want to reiterate my original comment mentioning vets 4 pets being very good. Our bulldog cross staff had been throwing up and off his food. Matt diagnosed him with having a blockage in his stomach and spent the afternoon of Christmas eve operating on him. It turned out he had eaten a sock and it had gotten stuck in his intestine. Matt removed it then, as they were shut on Christmas day, transferred the dog to chester gates.

The incision has been stitched incredibly, so much so that a large proportion of it has healed up already. They've been brilliant with him and always put out minds at ease. Don't think we could take him to any other vet.
