What's your views and opinions?Gps Track of the new Toll Road. I drove up the toll road for look last night from london. You join up to the New Toll road following the direction signs which guide you towards the M42 North then giving signs to the New M6 Toll. There isnt a starting point from driving north your just on it. And the Pay Toll Plaza as they call it is at the North End of the Toll Road. There are a few slip roads with Tolls at the end also, and the same southbound with toll gates. So its new, couldnt see any speed camera's as such but there were signs for a new Road Chef at the North End but only open for fuel only at the moment. So please have a vote and write an opinion, lets here your views.

I think the toll road is a cracking idea!!
I know taht we pay enough road tax, but to save 30 mins as i`ve been told for the cost of 2 quid i would do it everytime!!

I think the toll section is a good idea. Yes we pay road tax (TOO MUCH AS WELL), but if the section was a free toll then everybody would use it. Then you would end up back at square one.. STUCK IN TRAFFIC JAMS

i think they are good idea especially if it saves alot of time stuck in traffic jams. But we shouldnt have to pay road tax aswel as petrol tax and this new toll which is effectively a different form of tax. it is just a new way for the goverment to rob us road users blind!

i would rather let others pay, freeing up the free road getting me there just as fast. lets face it if enough people pay the free one will be quicker than it was anyway.

I think that its not a good idea. Last month I went past there and it looked just as busy as the regular route. Considering the amount of tax road users pay, I think its robbery.

Gary: The toll road isn't just "another kind of tax" - it's a privately owned road, the government had bugger all to do with it.

Hummm, i'm lead to believe that, The goverment control the charges that the toll road can issue, capping. The goverment also take tax from the profits company whom own the road. The Goverment have also given the go ahead to extend the toll road up towards manchester. Lets not for get the police officer who got done at +100mph on the toll road. Although its not a public highway, U.K. Laws apply your not exempt. Its actualy owned by Midland Expressway Limited who's partners are Cannock Chase Council, Staffordshire County Council, Sandwell. Just wanted you to be aware that your not above the law on this road, and i'm sure the goverment has a hand in it somewhere. my opinion. check out M6 Toll website Click me

Same as they DID for the tunnel, until that bill got through the house of lords a few weeks back. Where were you all then, eh? Hope y'all had signed up to the MTUA... The goverment also take tax from the profits company whom own the road.
Same as they take tax on the profits of my company - does that mean they control mine too? Lets not for get the police officer who got done at +100mph on the toll road. Although its not a public highway, U.K. Laws apply your not exempt.

Very correct - I believe they term it as a private road with public access, thus the same laws apply...
