Get your mum to buy you an old school car, Fiesta, Escort, Nova, AX GT, R5 etc.
They have far more personality as a first car than brand new cars, which virtually all look and drive the same now-a-days.
I would say Ford is your best bet for a brand new car if you do go down that road as they are pretty much the most reliable cars on the roads, decent prices as well.

I know what Id choose from the list But seriously, youve gotta weigh up all the differences between the car's and choose which one is best for yourself! I picked a ka cos its only insurance group 2, the parts are cheap and theyre not too expensive to run. Its upto you though, hope you make a good choice!

Outta that list I'd go for the lupo - it looks good and it's reliable, plus there aren't that many on the modding scene

Exactly the same as a VW Lupo but cheaper again a Seat Arosa 1.4, cheaper insurance and you get more goodies on a Seat like cd player, AC and alloys. Also as the insurance is cheaper than a VW you could probably get the 1.4 16v Arosa instead of the Lupo 1.0! Hope this helps!
