You will struggle to get one for less than £500, they're collectors items now and people are asking silly money.
There's an MOT failure one on Ebay which needs lots of welding and that's at £600 with over a day to go.

got a '93 sprite if you're interested? will be over your budget though but it doesn't need much, for £500 you'll be lucky to get anything more than a basket case.
