Looking for a budget laptop to replace my desktop just for light use, been on all the review sites and everyone Ive looked at gives poor reviews for the starter type laptops, just wondering if anyone can recommend one through their own experience.

To be honset Casper you will probably have to offer more information to get any worth while reply, such as budget, type of usage, do you need a cd/dvd type drive, will you be need a large storage device or will you be uploading to the cloud, is it for emailing and browsing or gaming etc. just to mention a few things.

Might be worth dropping into the Bidston Moss Tesco, they have a good selection there. I bought an Acer from there a while back and its done me well - has everything you need and for a good price too

That's a reasonable budget, i presume you are after a warranty in which case i would also consider a refurb from PCWorld as you could pick up a reasonable processor eg i5 with a 15inch screen and 12 mnths warranty with little or no markings but with descent savings. I would look at the likes of the HP Pavilion 15-n297sa Refurbished 15.6" Laptop for £238.49, the HP Notebook 15-r150sa Refurbished 15.6” Laptop £299.99, the HP Pavilion 15-p151sa Refurbished 15.6” Laptop £329.99 or the Toshiba Satellite L50-B-137 Refurbished 15.6" Laptop for £323.99. Peoples ideas of a good laptop and a good deal are subjective but i believe these laptops to offer reasonable specs for the price. Good luck.
