Alas-- no more--no sniggering now -- hope the RSPCA don't get onto me for not warming the pond water. Cant say I was devastated by their demise-- they wouldn't even come to the top when sprinkling food.

What happened???,Looks like your pond water was not deep enough. Poor fish
Six in total over the very bad winter we had a few years back. Pond was deep enough in the sense it didn't completely freeze solid just possibly lack of oxygen like some of the Park lakes which lost fish.
These gave us a good 10 years though--went for one but couldnt split up the family (that's what the rabbit rescue lady told us). A fourth appeared from nowhere several years later sniffing around the cage--must have smelt the scent.
