my plan is finish the carpet tomorrow, after that fit the seats, sort out the dvd player, cameras & other gadgets, fix the spoiler, get it MOT'd and if it passes, tax, then I need to get door cards.
If it fails (which it will) hopefully it'll be no more than a few minor faults
I hoping to get it to the next meet, but no promises.

I seem to be having a bit of bad luck at the moment.
The company who I bought the spoiler off don't offer replacement brake lights, so I'm going to have to try and find a 3rd brake light that will fit it.
I don't think the backs of the rear seats will fit mine as they are from a coupé so I'll have to get looking for standard back seats. The bottom bit should fit though.
Carpet is now fitted and DVD player is wired up. Also fitted the drivers side mirror.
The seats should be going in this weekend or early next week whenever I have time.

Finally got the seats in tonight. Still need to wire them up and find a standard leather back for the rear seats. I bought some new centre caps, but turns out the alloys have 50mm centre caps not 68mm as bmw alloys have, so I bought some 50mm Aluminium Stickers for the old centre caps instead. Also bought a universal brake light to try and fit to my spoiler as the old one is fooked. Got the video recorder working - it has motion detection and an input and output which I might wire up to the text alert alarm to start recording remotely or to text me if it detects motion All thats left to do now is painting of the rear trim and a fair bit of wiring for all the gadgets I bought. Hopefully book it in for an MOT next week. Heres a few better pictures for those who haven't seen it yet From This: To This: Pictures of the engine I spent months rebuilding: Easily enough space for another 2 cylinders

Those seats really do look nice, I bet the difference is immense. I have to say, the steering wheel looks horrendous!!
Go to Walsh's on Cleveland Street in Birkenhead for your MOT, they've passed my car 100% for the past four years, I'm sure they're a bit passive.

Cheers. They're a lot better than the crappy cloth ones. I must admit it the steering wheel does look a bit stupid for the car, but I had a similar steering wheel on my old civic, and I just like the style of it. For this first MOT, I'm taking it to someone I know because I know its going to fail on a few items, but the fewer the better

As long as the car wont fall apart cos you used your own handy work good luck joe. seeing as it's gone 12 today is the day for my tax so i know what it's like on the build up to the MOT. car is coming along well mate. interior looks well good, nice contrast to the white bodywork. next on the list has to be a 6 pot engine.
