Does anybody know when the houses on Norman Street were roughly built? And are some of the houses on the street older than others?

Norman Street, Birkenhead, does not appear in the 1906 Directory, the following are the 1910 & 1911 directories.

Thanks very much bert1. Can't access the links but at least I know that they weren't any houses in 1906.

On the 1909 old ordnance survey map it shows that Norman Street has got the outlines of all the terrace houses, which normally means they where built by that year.

That's great information bert1. I think that by 1923 all the houses were definitely built by then.

Norman St was bombed twice in WW2 so some of the houses will probably have been rebuilt either then or later.

That's very interesting that it was bombed twice during WW2. I noticed that the styles of the houses are different too. I wonder if that's by design or because of the bombing.

If you look at Clifford St and Kingsley St the areas that were flattened there are quite distinct. The cinema at the end was badly damaged and demolished (The Avenue - now called the Open Arms or something)
