Just spent the last hour looking at images of movie stars , tried all ways again to try find this darn image. No joy. Can’t understand why we can’t find it as it is one of a run ye..
Do we know what this bridge called they on ?
Jeff Chandler , was my Nans favourite leading man ha.
As I’ve said unless we find a copy if this picture I don’t think we can solve it . Maybe someone new to Wiki can help us . Hope so !

Its just a balcony, not a bridge, I named it some time ago https://www.wikiwirral.co.uk/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/1075313/re-old-car-photo.html#Post1075313 but there are a lot of variants on the name and parts of the location.

nono Not again DD !!!

Didn't we find they were balustrades infront of a hotel and near some gardens ?

Looking yet again last night for possible likenesses. Ruth Roman came near and I think she's been mentioned before too, but taking age, year of car etc. she might not fit. Can't remember all of that now.

This could go on for a few more years yet...

Milko Skofic looks a very good contender in profile but amongst the hundreds of face-on photos none of them bear a close resemblance.

I'm still 99% convinced on Elaine Stewart.

Yes once again I’ve got to admit she looks very much like Elaine Stewart. Bill Carter was her husband so was this guy,I’m throwing him into the mix.

Can't see the attraction, myself, but she was with him a long time.

The badge on the side of the car saying ""Alpine"" does raise some curiosity. While it's difficult to pinpoint the exact details without seeing the photo, it's possible that it could be related to the Alpine brand, known for its stylish and sporty cars. As for the time frame, the 1950s in America does seem like a plausible guess.
To gather more information about the photo and potentially identify any celebrities, you might want to try searching online archives or automotive history resources. They could provide valuable insights into the car's make and model, as well as any notable events or individuals associated with it.
By the way, if you're looking to showcase the restored photo in a unique and visually appealing way, consider exploring Canvas Prints Online. It's all about preserving and displaying those special moments!

Apologies in advance for resurrecting this thread. However, today I read an article in a technical IT related news magazine relating to privacy issues and how much info Google and others can discern from images. Full article is here.

Anyhow it had me wondering if it could provide any help with our own unknown image and later on provided a link to a website proving some free analysis (https://theyseeyourphotos.com/) - so naturally I had to give it a try, having first of all put the image through an AI enhancer to sharpen and clean it up a bit.

Disappointingly, the info generated adds nothing to our cause, but thought I'd add it here anyhow to save others wanting to try the same trick. The full text analysis generated is as below:

*******The photograph shows a classic car parked outdoors on a sunny day. In the foreground are two stylishly dressed individuals. Behind them, the backdrop features a picturesque cityscape, including what looks like a portion of Rome with the iconic dome of St. Peter's Basilica visible in the distance. Lush greenery and other buildings are also visible in the background.

The man and woman appear to be in their late twenties to early thirties, possibly of Italian descent. The man, dressed in a smart suit, exudes confidence, while the woman, in a sophisticated dress, displays an air of elegance. They seem to be enjoying each other’s company and possibly posing for the picture, conveying happiness and contentment. The photo seems to be taken with a high-quality professional camera, given the detail and composition of the image. The shot appears to be from the mid-20th century, judging from the style of clothing and vehicles. The woman's handbag is a chic accessory which hints at their lifestyle.

Beyond the immediate foreground, several other individuals can be seen in the background, engaging in casual activities. They seem to add to the overall ambiance and setting. There is a distinct sense of leisure and carefree attitude. The slight graininess in the photograph suggests it may have been taken with a black and white film camera. A careful observer would notice that the car's design elements and the clothing styles subtly indicate the time period of the photograph which corresponds to the mid-20th century. The quality of the image suggests it could be a professional photoshoot or a candid shot taken by someone skilled in photography.*********

So as I say disappointing, no pinpoint of location, identification of car, possible people id's or even better idea of date other than mid 20th Century.

I've also attached the sharpened image and an AI enhanced version of the woman.

The location the picture was taken is Terrazza Del Pincio, Rome

The car is a Sunbeam Alpine, probably a Mark III but might be a Mk 1 special, eitherway it narrows it down to 1953 earliest
