Been having a bit of a nostalgic moment talking to colleagues about old games consoles and games.
They were talking about the ability to run emulators for certain consoles on consoles like the original XBox and Wii.
Has anyone had any experience with this?
Is it easy to do?

It's definitely possible using a PC. If you search online for the console you're trying to emulate for e.g. 'megadrive emulator', you'll get loads of links and instructions. Then you download a 'ROM' of the game and load it, easy. With games consoles i'm not sure; most likely possible but with a fair bit of modification

Ive got a few emulators running on my Android phone but they just arent the same as i remember. Probably because there isn't a remote so the feel of a controller isnt there.
I do rememeber many years ago when I was back in school that I had a Gameboy emulator running on my PC just for Pokemon. I enjoyed that immensely!
I have a few old consoles up in the loft so i'd quite like to get them running on them if possible

Easiest to just use your PC. For Plok: - Download ZSNES Emulator - Emulator-zone- Download Plok ROM - Emuparadise- Open ZNES Emulator and load Plok ROM (makes things easier if you keep them in the same folder) That's it really. If you want any other console just go to the emulator-zone link or similar to download the correct emulator. Go to emuparadise or similar to download correct ROM. Load the ROM into emulator. You can get literally any console game and it runs better than the inbuilt flash versions on game-oldies etc. If you get used to it all, there's commonly netplay functions on a lot of emulators, so you can play online against someone as if you were playing on the same console.

If you want a nice little box to sit by your TV, you can't beat a Nintendo Wii. You can pick them up for around a tenner now and all you need is a 1Gb or 2Gb SD card, which you can pick up for pennies. The console is softmodded by a program called WIIBOMB, and isn't illegal, and takes about 20 minutes with some excellent Youtube guides online. Then you can fill it with any emulators of your choice. I've got a SNES, Commodore 64 and Spectrum emulator running on mine. You can plug in any USB keyboard to get full control of games. Its also a full fledged media player and will play video files from USB sticks. And you can also plug in a USB hard drive and copy your original Wii games over to it for faster loading. If you want the full retro experience you can now buy the original console controllers with USB connectors: http://tinyurl.com/zm9objs

You're welcome, have fun, it really does give an old Wii a new lease of life.
