I am assuming that all the school children who had a day off today , to protest, understand all of this and more. Or was it a 16 yr old Swedish girl , trying to cause mayhem across the globe .She couldn't have done it on her own without assistance from the big boys/girls , that's for sure ! I wonder who they might be.

Humankind has not woven the web of life. We are but one thread within it. Whatever we do to the web, we do to ourselves. All things are bound together. All things connect. ~Chief Seattle

I firmly believe that had the dinosaurs been alive today, animal rights campaigners would be trying to save them from extinction, Darwin’s theory of evolution would go out of the window and we’d be asked to hug a giant reptile. Why doesn’t anyone understand take a step back and look at the historical evidence? The planet is around 5 billion years old! It’s survived some of the harshest conditions ever known and is continually evolving and adapting to those conditions. To suggest that humans in its current form for which we have only been around for about 200,000 years will damage the planet pretty much states we have the power to do that. What absolute tosh and shows just how arrogant we are. If you really want to look at what Mother Earth will do, take a look at Chernobyl? Much of the area uninhabitable for humans but plants and animals surviving and thriving. All we are doing is killing ourselves, and making or own species extinct through the way we live, the life span of the average human ranging from 70-80 years on average. In evolutionary terms that’s not a long time however medicinces which try to keep us alive for longer are merely prolonging the agony of a poor quality of life. While the viruses in our bodies adapt to anti biotics (again survivial and adaption of living organisms) we are slowly dying....and all of it is our own doing. Bottom line.....the only thing we are doing is living a life that would eventually wipe out our own species and Mother Nature will reclaim the planet in its own image. If I’m talking utter tosh....just look at what happened to the period of the dinosaurs and how long they inhabited the planet before being wiped out (depnding on which theory you believe) by a ‘naturally’ (notice nature in that) occurring event. We will not be around long enough, our children and future generations will not be around long enough, the planet will refuse to sustain our way of life and as such will kill us off (like a virus) to protect itself.
