If you didn't get sorted you can make one with a socket handle and some webbing - just wrap the webbing round the socket handle and 'spin' the filter off ...I did this on my wifes' mazda 2 as I 'lost' my proper filter tool ....

I use pipe grips to get them off. It dents it a bit but its only the old one anyway. The new one gets put on carefully. They dont need to be that tight.
