Just to confirm, o2 are offering the iPhone 3G for free on retention deal's now, they are recons, and £35.00 p/m for 600 minutes, 500 texts, unlimited data and unlimited wifi (BT Openzone and The Cloud).
You should also be able to drag free home broadband out of them if you take this contract, which is worth £7.50 a month on its own.

Don't forget - you can always sell your old phone, especially if it a bit more than run of the mill. Just got £145 from www.mazumamobile.com for my Nokia N95 8Gb, and they only wanted the phone and battery. Would have been £159 in Argos vouchers. I don't have any connections with them at all (other than a cheque !)
