Wonder how it will compare to XBOX 360 Think i will stick to PC, specially as 64bit processors become popular on the launch of windows Vista, will see some of the best graphics ever

It will "theoretically" be at least 60% more powerful than the Xbox360. However it will also be more expensive at launch than the Xbox360. And don't foget, that extra power is theoretical and probably won't make much difference to the level of gameplay and/or graphics in games. I think it will be interesting to see whether or not games developers continue to produce games for the Xbox360 come the launch of the PlayStation 3, as it is very similar to the Saturn in that the coders need to be very comfortable with probramming for multiple independent CPU's (one of the major downfalls of the Sega Saturn and certainly one of the things that killed it). Mind you, if Sony's "Emotion Engine" is anything to go by, the PlayStation 3 will be utter crap anyway, good on paper and built up to be awsome, but lacklustre when it comes to real power.

playstation has always kicked ass when it come to games form the consoles. xbox do have some good games but you can't beat the selection of the ps. with their next console i think they are trying to equal or even better what the xbox currently puts out (i have seen some of the games played on the xbox 360 on a hd tv and i must say it is awesome!) i do think sony will have a winner both in terms of gameplay and graphics. i would like to see how they launch it (i.e like the xbox as in 2 different packages) but i am definately putting a reserve on one!
also what many people forget, is it isn't all over when the console is launched. though most of the game are crap, people don't give the developers a chance to see what the system can really do. (not naming names but most xbox 360 games are just showing off the graphics and not really gameplay, give it another six months or so and you might have some cracking games!)

Im not a console man myself, but I personally think that the Dreamcast was more "original" then the PS2, it had better gameplay on the majority of its major titles, the biggest reason Sega had to pull it was because it "had" to sell at in incredible rate to make up the defosit that the failiure of the Saturn left and also because major games producers such as EA (and therefore EA Games) we scared off by the amount of money they lost on developing games that ultimately failed for the Saturn). Anyway, forget all the seventh generation of consoles hehe, out of the 3 eighth generation consoles, the Nintendo Wii is the one I am really intrigued by (as are most game critics and reviewers), and I think, if its as good as it is supposed to be, then it really could changge the way people game forever and possibly knock both Microsoft and Sony off the podium as it looks like it will target a much wider range of people instead of just mainly kids and under 30's men.
