in a review by one of the major GERMAN motoring magazines!!! http://www.auto-motor-und-sport.de/...ort-limousinen-im-vergleich-1361502.html![[Linked Image]](http://www.photowirral.com/myspace/images/M5XFR.jpg) Pretty shocking news, as nothing non-German ever comes out top in the German press, least of all a Jaguar, and certainly not against what the Germans seem to consider as "ze best car in ze world". What with the absolutely stunning all-new XJ being released soon, and now a true M5 basher in the armoury, maybe Jaguar will have a brighter future? But then again, its British, so I have little doubt that the UK motoring press and Top Gear between them, will do nothing but slate them at every opportunity, no matter how good their cars are...

We will see in 12 months as to whether TG will actually support, or continue their long-running crusade against all things British lol. As I said, it does not matter how good the cars are, TG and the British motoring press don't like anything British, especially not marques with deep heritage and that arnt seen as trendy.
Just a shame its TATA now, as your guaranteed they will be picking at the quality of Indian cars lmao.

I cant see how that would change - unless, a) something better comes out, or b) it starts to breakdown and fall apart.

Well I do hope we Brits get behind Jag tbh, they have done the best thing they could in scrapping the miserly Mondeo from their range, and the new range of cars is looking a pretty strong lineup. They are getting back to their roots now Ford are not involved, Jaguar was never about cheap cars like the Mondeo, it should be about prestige, class, quality and comfort, alongside good all-round performance.

Well said Matt..
But like all things typically British.. the view is that people will be scared to try something new.. and stick with their Mundane M5s and S4s etc etc..
Its always the way Im afraid... "Oh..That looks nice. Wouldnt have one myself though. Il stick with a brand I can trust"

When have Tata been a British brand?
Ok I know the XFR is designed by Ford Europe (Although Ford is American) but it is in the hands of Tata (Indian) now, and Tata are in big trouble after buying Jag & Land Rover.
I love the XF, and I hope Tata have success with it, but there is a question over the Tata / Jag connection, and re-sale price figures.

Jaguar XFLead Designer: Ian Callum (British) Developed At: Coventry (British) Produced At: Birmingham (British) Envisaged Primary Market: Britain (British) That's just about as British as you will get; so it was funded by Ford, followed by TATA, but the Rover 75 was funded by BMW (open cheque book, something BAe would'nt have allowed), yet that is still regarded as a fully British car. As for TATA, please don't believe all the media shite that is published about them being close to bankruptcy etc... they are MASSIVE, and by that I mean gigantic. They generate more annual revenue than Microsoft and are one of the largest companies on earth in terms of capitlization. JLR has lost them money, but that was guaranteed to happen when you acquire a massive, already loss-making car manufacturer at a time of global recession and an overall slump in the world car industry. TATA have their fingers in more pies than Hollands, and will be taking on JLR as a long-term project. True, they have asked governments for financial aid, but when just about every other major car manufacturer is recieving billions in aid from goverments around the globe, why should'nt they have a slice of the action??

Porsche 911 and BMW M3s, that's all they seem to care about. Jaguar XF Lead Designer: Ian Callum (British) Developed At: Coventry (British) Produced At: Birmingham (British) Envisaged Primary Market: Britain (British) A lot of engineering and design is done over here, so apart from losing all mass production we still play a big part. It's depressing when you think how much has gone.
