I'm probably miles off the line, but there is also the place up the dirt track from Moreton Lighthouse.

There's a real danger that the left will drag Britain back to the 1970s, with secure well-paid jobs, ample housing, properly-funded NHS and social care, free tuition, student grants, final salary pensions, affordable rail fares and fabulous films and music. David Osland 2025

I think that's run by Irby anglers.

I thought I saw a club sign there last time I passed. Not a lot of good comments about Lingmere on the internet though.

Moreton Quarry or the Brick pit or Moreton Mere, used to be run by Irby Anglers many years ago and is located up Tarren Way opposite the old Cadburys factory. Follow the road past the golf driving range and along the dirt track under the pedestrian bridge. The Quarry is deep and contains some large fish including Pike.

If you drive past Leasowe Lighthouse and ignore the illegal home made no entry signs, you come to Lingmere. This excellent fishery is responsible for many 100lb plus catches and contains Carp and Silver fish. The top lake is a match lake and the lower lake is a pleasure lake.
It has toilets and a Cafe on site.
