Just been lookin on google an seen a couple of ads for monkeys an wondered if it is legal to have one as a pet

What type of monkey are you looking after keeping? In the UK, it is possible to own a monkey if you have a Dangerous Wild Animals licence issued by the local authority. "Each local authority has different rules and costs for a DWA, A vet must inspect the provisions in the owner's home but if they're not experienced in primates, they won't know what to look for. It is also possible to own three smaller primate species - marmoset, Tamarin and squirrel monkey - without a licence at all. hope this helps you out, oh and if you do get one get your family to get the hep B jab

Used to be a common thing years ago having a monkey as a pet, sailors used to bring them back.
