Sun Valley, the smell of them roasting peanuts, with the added smell of chicken for a while. It attracts a lot of pigeons. Star Yacht's - Birkenheads last boat builders according to the local paper. The telephone exchange; The scrapyards; The dock branch railway line that cuts Marion Street into two - and the little bit off Argyle St, with its rough road surface car park and the leather shop on the corner, just by the Gas Board showrooms. Oak and Eldon Gardens, some of the first things to be demolished and not forgetting The Angel Pub - probably the last thing to be demolished in that area.
