A WIRRAL man has been charged with the murder of his wife in a domestic incident.
Neil Johnson, from Ternway, Moreton, is alleged to have assaulted Debbie Johnson last Thursday at around 12.30pm.
Mrs Johnson, 43, was taken to hospital to be treated for serious injuries but sadly died on Friday.
A police spokesman confirmed that Mr Johnson, 54, was charged with murder and appeared before Birkenhead Magistrates on Saturday morning.
He was remanded in custody and will appear at Liverpool Crown Court on March 19.
