RSPCA investigates after “sicko” puts rat poison-laced sandwiches in a Wirral park
Jul 4 2012 by Helen Hunt, Heswall News
ANIMAL welfare officers are investigating reports that sandwiches laced with rat poison were left around a popular dog-walking spot in Wirral.
The RSPCA officers were made aware of the attack over the weekend and have warned pet owners to be vigilant.
The toxic sandwiches were said to have been left at Royden Park, in Frankby – a picturesque park enjoyed by many residents.
Today Wirral RSPCA Insp Anthony Joynes said it was a “disgusting” crime and asked anyone who had any information to come forward.
Unconfirmed reports suggested one dog may have died as a result of eating the poisoned sandwiches and another was left needing veterinary treatment.

This is sad but people really shouldn't let their dogs eat anything whilst out.
Hope they catch the sick freak who put them there.

May be totally unrelated , but my sis in law walks her dog around Central Park and her dog suffered a mystery illness that kept her in the vets for 2 days =ing a £300 bill...As i said , maybe unrelated , and she doesn't know if her dog ate anything in the park.

In my experience (own two cats) they always bury/cover up their mess, and always do it on soft ground/soil for that reason. Never known them to poo on the lawn where they cannot bury it.
