We lost two True Gentlemen this week.
David Barbie and ...
CORRIE legend Geoffrey Hughes has died after a long battle with cancer.
The 68-year-old actor, who starred as binman Eddie Yates in the 1970s and 1980s, is thought to have had prostate cancer.

I wonder if illness was the reason he stopped appearing in Heartbeat(Geoff Hughes)....he just seemed to vanish from the show
and no reference was made to his character...I know he did a couple of "Royle family's" but that might have been Ricky Tomlinson giving him a bit of work when he felt well enough.
He was a great talent and he's another link in the Beatles story (He was the voice of Paul McCartney in the cartoon film Yellow Submarine).
