i have a pc on xp, when i boot up all seems ok bar the mouse cursor not moving. tried the mouse on my lap top and its fine. any help on this would be fine.

Is it a wireless or wired mouse? USB or PS2?

If it's USB try an alternative port, preferably one on the back of the unit.
If it's PS/2 it needs to be in the green or mouse PS/2 port.
