Looks like the laptop is beyond repair and judging by google it seems to have happened a lot with this model. Best get saving up for a new one. Thanks for everyones help

Just before you use it as a paperweight, try removing the RAM from the laptop and then try turning it on. If the caps lock flashes differently, or beeps occur, then you may only have faulty RAM, not a faulty board.
Unfortunately with laptops, not a lot can be replaced unlike desktops. The only components you can replace are; RAM, HDD and in some unlikely cases, CPUs. Graphics cards replacements on laptops are only for the ultra gaming end of the scale.
HP Laptops have to be one of the least reliable laptops in the history of laptop-kind.
If taking the RAM out sees no change, then take your hard drive out (As it'll have all of your stuff on it) then you can either ebay it as Spares or Repair, or have yourself a doorstop.

Try this, it worked for mine.
START BUTTON AND F8 PRESS AND HOLD FOR A WHILE, KEEP DOING IT AND IT SHOULD BOOT UP EVENTUALLY.
