I have a 55 plate Citroen Xsara Picasso 2.0 Hdi which today has developed an issue with the indicator. When I signal to turn right, the indicator stops and the headlights come on. If I knock the indicator off and signal again, sometimes it stays on ok but most of the time it stops and as I said, the headlights come on. I can indicate left and the indicator works as it should. Need someone who knows what they are doing to have a look at it for me. Can anyone recommend me a decent auto electrician??? Thanks in advance guys, any help wit this will be very much appreciated

Sounds like the fault is the indicator stalk it's self. Advanced auto electrics on New Chester road. Google their number.

yeh was gonna say either someone's been arsing around with your wiring or the stalk itself may be faulty.
or both.

Most like will be the indicator stalk. Pretty common on peugeots and citroens. Some of the citroens have them all built into one unit though and that can be pricey. If it's just a single indicator stalk I would imagine something like £40 for the part and whatever it is to fit. Might be worth giving it a go yourself I've had to change the one on a peugeot 3 times over the course of me owning the car because it went pretty much every 2 years.

As has been said, its the COMM2000 unit (posh name for indicator / wiper stalks and the control unit).
The parts inside wear out.
Its a cheap and easy fix, and you have a couple of options.
1) There's a chap in Bradford who repairs them for around £25. You can either drive to him or send off the part (if you can be without the car for a day or two). He took the time and trouble to identify the parts that wear and had some specially made. Search ebay for "COMM 2000 REPAIR" and his listing should appear. This is my recommendation, I know the guy personally and used his services as a paying customer before.
2) There's a chap in Ellesmere Port who can also do repairs. He's got a few broken ones he's cannibalised for spares.
3) Replace the unit with a new one when Euro Car Parts have their sale on. Dealers can charge upto £200 for the unit, depending on what features it has on the stalks, but I've seen them go for as little as £58 during a sale. Sadly there are literally dozens of configurations.

Oh, there's one other thing you could try first - electrical contact cleaner. Spray some into the base of the stalks while operating up and down. Dust can gather in there and case intermittent connections. This was the case on my 57 plate 307.
