Hi All, not sure if this is the right place to post but am sure someone will help!
Early hours of Sunday 20th Sept a single male threw a full petrol can as a mo!otov cocktail onto my daughters car. This car was parked on our drive in front of our house and next to a gas meter! The car was engulfed in flames the fire being ferocious enough to implode the windscreen and to crack double glazed Windows! Had our dog not alerted us to the imminent danger my two teens and their friend along with myself and a visiting friend would have perished. The charge if anyone is brought to boot will be arson with intent to endanger life! Please please ensure you have security lights and if possible CCTV cameras on your property we would not be in this situation had we found time and installed the camera we had bought! This time no one apart from the dog was hurt...next time ...well it doesn't bare thinking about! Stay safe folks.BTW this happened in the Noctorum area!.

Omg! That must have been terrifying Suzie and so so bad. Thank god no-one was hurt. Had your daughter had a gripe with someone or a bad relationship with a man, or was it a random act. So glad you all ok.

I'd suggest checking the cctv at the local gas stations now if I were you.
Lads probably on camera filling the can up in the area.

Update...dog has been treated by vet he has burns to his nose and snout but nothing serious.
No disputes with neighbours,no ex's,no crazies, no feuds.
Thoughts are on the lines of.. mistaken identity, a prank that went wrong, car is with forensics as is the petrol can or should I say what's left of them ..CCTV being reviewed from a number of sources.
Fire services have been amazing never needed them before but they have gone beyond what I had expected. Police are stretched to the limit yet managed to respond within minutes very reassuring.
Thanks for all your replies and suggestions. Now that I am calmer I cannot stress enough the need for security and fire alarms...on yes and a very heroic family pampered pooch!.

This is getting beyond ridiculous, loads of kids that have got feral over the school holidays but its getting more serious and more frequent than in the past - our "civilisation" is going backwards.

Everyone I talk to from all over the Wirral has heard of attacks on vehicles recently and some on property as well.

All I can say is that any and all anti-social behaviour or crime should be reported to the police, the police budgets are based on the amount of reported crime, the less its reported the less police we will have.

Had my car keyed during the summer holidays, over 3 panels. Feral kids suspected.

Last Friday night about midnight near Townfield school a thoroughly decent family man was assaulted and robbed of his wallet watch and glasses, the glasses were later thrown away.He was also beaten with cans and kicked while on the ground. He is now off work his wife has just been made redundant and family and friends are distressed.I myself feel physically sick to think this could happen to such a decent man.To rob for gain is one thing, "What was the beating for?"Take care folks.

Is it time to form vigilante groups to reclaim our streets from the feral yobs who can attack people and property with seeming impunity?

Might as well Ludi. The police never do anything about these thugs.... too busy eating doughnuts and writing in there notepad.

The trouble with vigilante groups is they can morph into a worse kind of scenario than they were created to combat.I appreciate your logic and your thinking. I am so full of anger at the moment decisions and a rational point of view may be distorted.A friend of mine used to say I had reverted to "type" when in a situation that required a lets say, physical response. We should not have to.
